    Samarra Pharmaceutical Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Industry, revealed the opening of new factories to produce pharmaceuticals and medicines by the end of this year, as part of the investment plan, and the completion of an industrial waste treatment plant.
    The company's director, Mohammed Abdul Qader Al-Naimi, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah", followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that the investment plan included the establishment of four factories to produce new pharmaceuticals and medicines with high efficiency, and materials that conform to international specifications set by the World Health Organization, instead of the old factories that were completed in Samarra since the seventies, and are still under construction and have reached advanced stages.
    He added that the factories include an ointments, creams and suppositories factory, a syrup and liquid suspensions factory (liquid preparations), a hall for sterile eye drops and ointments, in addition to the establishment of grain and antibiotic factories.
    Al-Naimi pointed out that an industrial waste treatment plant of English origin has been completed, and is currently operating under trial operation, in addition to equipping fire systems for all buildings.
    He confirmed that the company has recently achieved many accomplishments, represented by the production of important preparations for chronic diseases, which added significant revenues, after concluding contracts with the Ministry of Health, in addition to providing therapeutic preparations including (omeprazole and amisole) to treat diseases of the digestive system, and producing a new preparation for thrombosis and strokes.
