On Thursday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhil, issued 7 directives to the Baghdad Distribution Department, while stressing the need to improve the quality of electricity service provided to citizens in the capital.
The ministry said in a statement, seen by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "Electricity Minister Ziad Ali Fadhil visited the Baghdad Distribution Department and held an extensive meeting with officials and managers of circuit breakers and maintenance centers; to review the results of the first and second rehabilitation campaigns and address the problems of congestion in some areas of the capital."
She added, "The meeting issued several important directives from the Minister, most notably:
- Continuing rehabilitation campaigns and equipping maintenance centers and sectors with governing materials and transformers.
- Intensifying follow-up of maintenance work and ensuring its quality.
- Monitoring feeder loads and handling high loads to reduce them.
- Enhancing cooperation between support and technical departments to follow up rehabilitation campaigns.
- Distributing transformers according to priority, importance and need.
- Diagnosing areas suffering from network bottlenecks and developing urgent solutions for them.
- Enhancing oversight of the work of maintenance centers to ensure rapid response to emergencies.
The Minister stressed, "the importance of these procedures in improving the quality of electrical service provided to citizens in the capital, Baghdad," stressing, "the need to combine efforts to achieve the desired results in providing stable and sustainable supply hours."
