The Ministry of Planning set the date for the start of the numbering and enumeration operations for the population census on Friday.
The ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said: “The goal of the census is developmental and will therefore indicate development gaps and shortcomings in the development sectors. This identification and illumination of the angles will be very useful and will represent basic and primary inputs for the plan, given that it targets treatment.”
He added, “The census diagnoses and the plan treats through what will be produced by accurate digital indicators on all aspects of life, and will represent an important addition and a basic foundation.”
He explained that "the census is being conducted in stages and with timetables, and we have completed the stages according to their timetables," noting that "we are now in the stage of training researchers, as there are 20,000 researchers being trained in preparation for the launch of the numbering and enumeration operations, which include numbering the houses, buildings and facilities throughout the country. This process will start at the end of this August and will continue for two months, after which, specifically in October, 120,000 enumerators will be trained to implement the census on November 20, 2024. Thus, we are proceeding according to the plan and according to the timetables of the census plan with its stages and timetables."
