The Ministry of Planning announced today, Wednesday, that random and commercial housing will be included in the numbering operations for the purpose of conducting the population census on November 20, 2024.
Planning spokesman Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi said: “Preparations for the population census are continuing at full speed to conduct it on the scheduled date, as we have finished training 230,000 field researchers to conduct the numbering and enumeration operations, which began on September 1.”
He added, “The numbering and enumeration operations will continue for 60 days, which will include numbering all floors, buildings and facilities at the level of all administrative units at the district, village, sub-district, towns, random and commercial gatherings, as random and commercial housing will be included in the numbering operations.”
Al-Hindawi continued, “In addition to knowing the number of resident families, the number of individuals, housing characteristics and other details, we will have a very important detailed picture of the administrative units in all details.”
He pointed out that “the date of the census is November 20, 2024, and we will work on training other batches of researchers and enumerators who will be Their number is 120 thousand, and we have prepared and trained, as about 40 thousand have been prepared and trained, and 80 thousand others will be trained in October, so that the number will be 120 thousand to conduct the general population census.”
According to Al-Hanadawi’s statement, “the financial allocations were well provided to cover all the technical and logistical requirements to provide the tablets, as 120 thousand tablets were prepared and a data and communications center was established, in addition to an operations room. We also provided satellite images for the administrative units throughout Iraq, and the preparations were provided, which reached their peak, and the field work actually began with the launch of the numbering and enumeration operations to conduct the census on its scheduled date.”
