    Economy News - Baghdad
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed on Wednesday that Iraq is witnessing an unprecedented development movement and has also become an attractive environment for foreign companies to invest.
Al-Sudani said in a press conference with his Tunisian counterpart Kamal Al-Madouri, which was followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that the visit to Tunisia, which came in response to an official invitation, is an important station in the path of strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, stressing the government's keenness and sincere desire to work together and strengthen relations in various fields. This came during a joint press statement made by His Excellency, today, Wednesday, with his Tunisian counterpart, following the extensive discussions of the delegations of the two countries.
He added that "the visit comes three months after the convening of the joint Iraqi-Tunisian committee in Baghdad, during which an important group of memoranda of understanding were signed in various fields. It is a roadmap to which the outcomes of this visit were added, during which agreements were reached on files related to oil, industry and trade, financial and banking relations, cultural, sports, scientific and tourism activities, praising the decisions taken to lift the visa in order to facilitate movement and communication in the tourism sector and the movement of businessmen and companies."
Al-Sudani stressed that "the discussions focused on the mechanisms that would implement the outcomes of the joint committee or today's meetings," indicating that there is a clear insistence from both parties on close follow-up and continuous evaluation. He added that Iraq has an environment for more investments and opportunities in various sectors, pointing to the desire of the Iraqi private sector to invest in Tunisia, which would ensure integration in mutual investments, and enhancing trade exchange would be a prelude to achieving the desired economic integration between the two countries.
He pointed out, "The official positions of the two countries towards the Zionist aggression on Gaza and the Palestinian territories, which is a principled and firm position towards the genocide targeting the Palestinian people, in light of the failure of the international community to carry out its legal and moral duties and responsibilities, stressing that today's meeting with the Tunisian leadership comes within a series of meetings with sister and friendly governments; to crystallize positions in order to stop this destructive war that has begun to expand to include other regions in the Middle East, and threatens a comprehensive war in the world; due to the persistence of the Zionist entity government and the lack of deterrence from international organizations and institutions."
