The Teachers Syndicate revealed the existence of a proposal to allocate residential lands for educators in developed and serviced areas.
The official spokesperson for the Syndicate, Ahmed Al-Shuwaili, told Al-Sabah: “The Syndicate announced its demands during the Central Council meeting held the day before yesterday, which included amending the salary scale for teachers and instructors in order to improve their financial situation and reduce reliance on private tutoring and private teaching institutes to obtain additional income.”
He added that “there is an initiative in coordination with the governorates to grant educators free residential lands and soft loans to enable them to build a housing unit,” indicating that some governors are cooperating with the heads of the Syndicate, while others do not provide support to the educational staff in this matter, so the Syndicate seeks to open horizons for joint cooperation in order to grant the educational staff their rights.
Al-Shuwaili pointed out that there is a proposal to allocate plots of land to educators in developed, i.e. serviced, areas, and there will be communications with the Ministry of Finance to allocate them to educators in exchange for financial sums.
