    The Independent High Electoral Commission revealed, today, Sunday, the number of appeals in the parliamentary elections of the Kurdistan Region, stressing that work on those appeals will continue for 17 days between the work of the Commission and the judiciary.[/size]
    [size=45]“The commission needs seven working days to prepare the answers and send them to the judiciary, and the judiciary has 10 working days to decide on the appeals,” said Jumana Ghalay, spokeswoman for the Electoral Commission, in a statement.[/size]
    [size=45]Ghalay pointed out that "the deadline for receiving appeals has ended today and 41 appeals have been closed," indicating that "the appeals were distributed in the governorates of Sulaymaniyah 25 appeals, Erbil 12 appeals, Halabja one appeal, and Dohuk 3 appeals."[/size]
    [size=45]Ghalay explained that dealing with these appeals is in accordance with the Electoral Commission Law No. 13 of 2019.[/size]
    [size=45]Last Wednesday, the Independent High Electoral Commission announced the final results of the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament elections, saying that the turnout exceeded 72%.[/size]
    [size=45]The head of the commission, Judge Omar Ahmed Mohammed, said in a press conference held in Erbil that the commission had taken a series of measures to ensure the integrity of the elections in a safe atmosphere, “and we worked diligently to accomplish this national mission.”[/size]
    [size=45]According to the announced results, the total number of seats in Sulaymaniyah reached 38 seats. The Patriotic Union came in first place with 15 seats, the New Generation came in second place with 8 seats, the Kurdistan Democratic Party came in third with 3 seats, the Kurdistan Islamic Union came in fourth with 3 seats also, with a difference in votes from the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Iraqi Kurdistan Justice Group came in fifth with two seats, the Manaqif came in sixth with two seats also, with a difference in votes from the Justice Group, the People's Front got one seat, the Kurdistan Alliance also got one seat, and the components got two seats.[/size]
    [size=45]In Dohuk, the total number of seats was 25, of which the Kurdistan Democratic Party won 18 seats, the New Generation won two seats, the Kurdistan Islamic Union also won two seats, while the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the Justice Group, the Position, and the People's Front won one seat each.[/size]
    [size=45]In Erbil Governorate, the total number of seats is 34, of which the Kurdistan Democratic Party won 17 seats, the Patriotic Union won 6 seats, the New Generation won 5 seats, and the Kurdistan Islamic Union, the Justice Group, the Position, the People's Front, the Messiah, and the Turkmen, each won one seat.[/size]

    [size=45]According to the final announced results, the Democratic Party won first place with 39 seats, the Patriotic Union came in second place with 23 seats, the New Generation came in third place with 15 seats, the Kurdistan Islamic Union came in fourth place with 7 seats, Al-Mawqif came in fifth place with 4 seats, the Justice Group came in sixth place with 3 seats, the People's Front came in seventh place with 2 seats, the Change Movement came in eighth place with one seat, and the Kurdistan Alliance came in ninth place with one seat.[/size]
