    Information / Baghdad..
Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Moeen Al-Kazemi, revealed today, Tuesday, that there is a parliamentary move to amend the retirement law and return the service age to 63 years.
Al-Kadhimi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "The government's view is to keep the retirement age at 60 years in order to inject new blood and provide job opportunities for young people instead of retirees."
He added, "There is a parliamentary and popular desire to amend the retirement law and return the service age to 63 years. What encourages amending the law is the National Retirement Authority, considering that there are retirement deductions to support the authority's revenues."
Al-Kadhimi pointed out that "the Parliamentary Legal Committee has prepared a new draft of the retirement law, and the same version is with the National Retirement Authority."
He pointed out that "the remaining time of the current legislative term does not allow for passing the law, so voting on it will be postponed during the next legislative term." End / 25 H
