    Economy News - Baghdad
Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Oil, Energy and Natural Resources Committee, Adnan Al-Jaberi, confirmed that the investment of associated gas in Iraqi oil fields exceeded 60%.
Al-Jaberi said in a televised interview followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", "The quantities of associated gas that are burned are very large quantities, but I believe that Iraq has reached a rate of more than 60% in investing in associated gas."
He pointed out that "associated gas is actually being invested in a number of oil fields, and there are also promising projects to invest the remaining associated gas in the oil fields in Basra Governorate."
Regarding the percentage of Iraqi workers in the oil fields, compared to foreign workers, MP Adnan Al-Jaberi explained that “there are no accurate statistics and we have not obtained accurate statistics for this subject, but the news we receive from the oil fields indicates that the percentage of foreign workers coming in is high.”
According to Kazem Al-Tawki, a member of the parliamentary oil committee, the number of foreign workers in oil companies in Iraq has exceeded 100,000 workers.
Every now and then, Iraqi university graduates organize protests in front of the doors of these companies to demand employment, and their protests are sometimes forcibly dispersed.
