    Join us for TXSVETS in Austin March 17
     

     
    The Texas Veterans Commission is hosting TXSVets, a free event in Austin March 17 at the Brass House, 115 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin, TX 78701 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
     
    The event will open with a screening of the Oscar-winning HBO documentary "Crisis Line: Veterans Press 1," which focuses on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs crisis line.
     
    There will also be free food and drinks and a discussion of Veterans mental health and the Texas Veterans App featuring the Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN). After that, Veteran entrepreneurs will talk about the innovative businesses they're working on.
     
    The event is sponsored by Brass House, Texas.gov, Lone Star Veterans Association, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America and more.

    Veteran Entrepreneur Seminar in Tyler March 14
     

     
    The Texas Veterans Commission is conducting a Veteran Entrepreneur Seminar on Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The seminar will be conducted at Smith County R.B. Hubbard Facility, 304 East Ferguson St, Tyler, Texas 75702.
     
    The seminar is open to all Veterans, active duty personnel and their families wishing to start or expand their own business. Participating organizations will include the Texas Veterans Commission, Small Business Administration (SBA), Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), several lenders, and organizations with expertise in starting and growing a business.

    Veterans Employed by Texas hiring event April 23 in Austin
     

     
    The Texas Veterans Commission is hosting a Hiring Event designed to provide a career path in Texas State government for those that have proudly served our nation.
     
    The VETS Hiring Event will be Thursday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wyndham Garden Hotels, 3401 South IH-35, Austin, TX 78741.
     
    Veterans, reservists, guardsman and transitioning servicemembers pursuing career opportunities in Texas state government are encouraged to attend.

    VA encourages eligible Veterans to apply for 2015 Veterans Summer Sports Clinic
     
    The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is now accepting applications from Veterans interested in participating in the 2015 National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic.
     
    The 2015 National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic will be held Sept.13-18 at the VA San Diego Healthcare System in San Diego, California. The annual event is expected to attract Veterans from all over the country who have sustained a variety of injuries ranging from traumatic brain injury and polytrauma, to spinal cord injury or loss of limb.

    Texas Lottery Commission supports Veterans
     

     
    The Texas Lottery Commission supports Veterans groups through the Veterans Cash lottery ticket, which helps fund the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans' Assistance. The FVA has provided more than $45 million in grants to Veteran service organizations throughout Texas since 2009.
