Iraq receives two naval bases of United States

support vessels through foreign military sales deal between Iraq and the
United States.
According to the u.s. Navy in a joint ceremony of
delivery of the vessels and two-OSV OSV 1 and 2 and one ship length 196
feet, with US Navy commander Admiral systems Kevin McCoy "this event
reflects the importance of the links between our Governments and our
commitment to support the strong coalition partnership based on mutual
respect and understanding".
The Admiral said that "this deal come
along with an Iraqi patrol boats were delivered and this program gives a
unique opportunity for cooperation between our two countries."
The
site stated that the "HMS OSV armed with 30 mm caliber guns and assault
boats equipped to defend and provide a variety of capabilities to
support Iraq's oil production platforms have been purchased as part of
the US Navy's foreign sales to help restore Iraq's ability to impose its
sovereignty and maritime security in the North Arabian Gulf."
