    Announced the Regional Director for Malaysia's Petronas in Iraq Malik Jaffer, a plan to raise production Garraf oil field from 100,000 barrels per day to 120,000 barrels during the next year, while noting coordination with theMinistry of Oil and the South Oil Company in this regard, he confirmed receipt of the company 's list of service projects prepared the local government to implement them in the vicinity of the field Garraf areas. 
     the regional Director said Petronas Malik Jaffer in an interview (long - Presse) that " the current production rate of Garraf oil field, operated by Petronas of 100,000 barrels per day , and negotiations are ongoing with the South oil company to raise output to 120,000 barrels per day during 2017. " 
    Jaafar added that" the oil ministry has confirmed its willingness to raise production in the Garraf oil field, and Petronas will work with the ministry and local businesses to raise output within the ceiling is required , "noting that" Petronas has received from the local government in Dhi Waqar list of service projects for implementation in the areas adjacent to the Garraf oil field and villages within the funds for social benefits amounting to five million dollars per year. "

"The two companies Petronas and Japex of Japan signed in (January 19 , 2010), signed a contract with the Ministry of Oil to develop the Garraf field in the province of Dhi Qar includes the drilling of 240 wells by 2017 ,which will allow to raise oil production from Garraf fields ceiling to reach 230 thousand barrels per day in 2017 . 
     the Dhi Qar administration predicted in (February 8, 2016) of natural gas production from Garraf oil field, north of the province, during the current year, indicating that the production of natural gas from the oil fields cover the local need and enhances the resources and protects the environment from pollution risks from associated gas combustion to extract the oil. 
    the estimated oil reserves in Dhi Qar more than 20 billion barrels spread over the Garraf, Nasiriyah and Abu column fields and the field of pouring oil fields, while total current production from the fields of Garraf, Nasiriyah , about 170 thousand barrels per day. 
     the cabinet has formally approved ( the fifth of January 2016) on the establishment of Dhi Qar oil company.The date of the oil production in Dhi Qar to 2007 where he has direct first phase of the development ofNasiriyah oil field in the beginning of that year, an initial production capacity is estimated at 12 thousand barrels per day.
