    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, decided today, Sunday (June 23, 2024), to abolish the position of head of the Council of Advisors in Kirkuk Governorate and rename it to the “Advisory Council” without appointing a chairperson for it.
According to a letter from the Prime Minister’s Office, received by “Baghdad Today”, “the members of the commission will be called (experts) instead of (advisers) to comply with Article 34 of the Governorate Law No. 21 of 2008.”
In addition, the Prime Minister canceled the appointment of Imad Khalaf Daham, who had been removed by peremptory judicial decisions since 2016, as head of the advisory body.
Al-Sudani also ordered the formation of investigation committees into the work of the governorate and its departments due to their violation of laws and judicial decisions, and to refer the files related to that to the Federal Integrity Commission in Baghdad to take the necessary measures.
