    Today, Sunday (June 23, 2024), the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, directed to keep pace with developments in the field of air transport and to meet all international aviation standards to end the European embargo.
    The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement, received by "Baghdad Today", that Al-Sudani "chaired, today, Sunday, a meeting of the committee charged with ending the file of the European embargo on Iraqi airlines."
    He added, "Al-Sudani reviewed the measures taken by the competent committee within the efforts to end the embargo and its requirements, and in the field of developing the work of the airline company and automating all its joints, as well as in the field of aircraft repair and maintenance, and the continuation of efforts to develop the capabilities of the company's cadres and facilities, and to improve the level of services provided to travelers, including "It is commensurate with the status and role of airlines, as a civilized interface for Iraq."
    Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, “the necessity of meeting the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization  (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association  (IATA)  as quickly as possible, and keeping pace with global development in the field of air transport for passengers and goods, as well as working according to specific time frames to determine and achieve targets.” .
    He stressed that "lifting the ban on Iraqi Airlines is one of the files that receives great attention from the government, and it is a file that cannot be tolerated. He stated that legal measures will be taken against those who are negligent in meeting the requirements and following up on this file."
