    [ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Britain welcomed Iraq’s relieving from the UN Charter’s Seventh Chapter.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The UN Security Council voted on last Thursday, on relieving Iraq from the UN Charter’s seventh Chapter.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The UK Foreign Secretary, William Hague, said “I’m very pleased that the UN Security Council settled Iraq’s obligations stated in the UN Charter’s Seventh Chapter related to the war on Kuwait.”[/ltr]
    [ltr]“These obligations were imposed on Iraq after Kuwait war in 1990-1991,” he added noting “This decision represents historical juncture in restoring Iraq’s normal place in the international community.”[/ltr]
    [ltr]The UK Secretary pointed out that “The UK worked hard to ensure the issuance of this decision,” assuring “Iraq exerted concerted efforts to fulfill these obligations and offer the compensations to Kuwait.”[/ltr]
    [ltr]Hague commended “Kuwait’s flexibility and cooperation in settling the pending issues with Iraq, highlighting the United Nations’ important role in supervising the settlement and encouraging the progress in this regard.”[/ltr]
