An Open Letter to the Buffalo Bills owners, players, and staff

This past week the national media has had some fun at the Buffalo Bills expense for the 16th season in a row. Some of the scrutiny has been well deserved but this is the price the franchise pays for hiring a Hollywood type coach. The term dumpster fire has been used by ESPN to describe the Buffalo Bills all week, but that is not what this team is.
The Buffalo Bills head into this week with the chance to finish 8-8 against the New York Jets. If you paid attention to the season, this team was one half and one missed field goal away from the playoffs, that’s it. For all the years I have been following sports, the term dumpster fire doesn’t describe this team adequately. The term dumpster fire is for a franchise that needs to rebuild. This team is the closest we have been in sometime.
To Terry and Kim, I hope you are taking this time to sit down with the players and discuss what needs to be done. I hope you give a good listen to the interviews with the players that have occurred this week, especially the one Sammy Watkins gave a couple of days ago. The teams needs someone who will put players in their place, cut players, and clean house if need be.

The front office of the Buffalo Bills should be treated the same way. Russ Brandon has been with the team since 1997, and his partner in crime Doug Whaley has been with the team since 2010, now I hope you take the time to ask yourself what have they done for you lately?
Russ Brandon has a title that has never existed before involving two franchises, and Doug is suppose to be this mastermind scout – have you seen any results? The moment you acknowledge that these two have lead the franchise a stray, is the day the Buffalo Bills will turn around.
The players have been saying they need someone to keep them accountable, to be a disciplinarian. Well its time to discipline Russ and Doug by showing them the door. The Buffalo Bills need a new front office, to bring in a new coach, which will allow both parties to work together to snap the streak.
To Tyrod, I want to thank you for the being the upmost professional this year. There has been times, that if I was in your shoes I would’ve lost it in the press conferences or made a bigger issue to the media. But you stayed professional and composed. At times, you have been inconsistent but at the same time you have made plays that have made our jaws drop.
This team is close, with hard work and the dedication to the franchise and the fans – we believe you can get this done. If I am the only who will say it, then so be it – I want you back in Buffalo next year. Granted I know the NFL is a business, and your contract will be a pay cut then what it was originally signed for. I want you back in Buffalo. I want you back with Shady, Sammy, Woods, and Clay.

If I have learned anything this year, is that when there is a fire lit under the offense, you guys come out and ball — second half of the recent Miami game is a prime example. We need more consistency, but that will come with the reps. Fans are so rough here, because we have been waiting 16 years for the playoffs. At times it’s insane how we lose it, but it’s all out of passion. I hope, we hope that this time next year we are carrying that passion with you into the playoffs. Until then, Keep Billieving.
