Capitals take on Islanders in a Game of Street Hockey

The NHL will be taking outdoor games to a whole new level tonight when the Washington Capitals take on the suddenly homeless New York Islanders.

The game will be held in the street in front of what used to be the Islander's arena. How do you say "car" in Russian? (I bet the President knows!!)

Let this be a lesson to you: no matter how good things are going, you can always end up on the street.

Will John Tavares be reduced to busking? Will Travis Hamonic become a squeegee kid?

As of now, sources say it's unlikely.

After running this joke into the ground, Tanner resumes a normal game preview.

It really is weird that the Islanders are kicked out of their home, however, as far as I know, they will at least play out the season at the Barclays Centre.

What is a "Barclays" centre anyways? One assumes it's a kind of gross tasting cough syrup?

The Islanders seem rejuvenated ever since firing their terrible coach and replacing him with Doug Weight. They signed Tomas Greisse and all that is left is to get Tavares' name on an extension.

Unfortunately for them, they now have to play the Capitals, who score six goals a game, pretty much, whenever they don't face the Senators.

Fresh off awesomely promising to defy the NHL if they don't go to the Olympics, noted dissident Alex Ovechkin will be joined by good friend and lover of fine wines John Carlson, who will return from injured reserve to give the Capitals back all three of their top line defenseman.

Holtby will be saved for tomorrow against the Bruins.[/size]
