There are a lot of different angles from which you could look at Monday's Boston Bruins - Ottawa Senators tilt. For the Senators, who completed February with a disappointing road trip, March has started off pretty well with back to back wins. After tonight, they will head on a 3 game road trip that will see them face off against the three lowest ranked teams in the Western Conference - Avalanche, Coyotes and Stars. With a win tonight (and the sudden ability to play well against sub-par teams) March sets up to at least start on a very positive note.

But standing in the way of that potential is a team that is battling with them for the second spot in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins have caught fire under new coach Bruce Cassidy, and have posted an 8-2 record since Claude Julien was let go and subsequently snapped up by the Canadiens.

So with three meetings left this season between the two clubs, it will be a different Bruins team than the one the Senators beat 3-1 last November, counting three unanswered after Boston opened the scoring late in the first period.

Nobody has reaped the benefits of the coaching change more than the Bruins' top line of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Backes. Bergeron has 13 points since the switch, after having just 29 points in his first 52 games. Backes has 9 points in the 10 games, after having 23 in 47 games before Cassidy took over. Marchand is also excelling, but he was doing so before the change, and has continued his point per game pace (67 points in 65 games).

Ottawa has been getting offense from last week's trade deadline acquisitions, Alex Burrows and Viktor Stalberg, and they will need more from other sources as well if they are going to stay ahead of the Bruins.

The Senators are coming off a big 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in this four point game they had better come out ready to play because the Bruins are rejuvenated and have also cut their goals against by almost half a goal per game between the Julien era and the Cassidy era this season.

Craig Anderson should get the nod once again as he has been stellar for the most part since his return from helping his wife deal with her health concerns and helping take care of his family, and he made 19 stops in that November win over the Bruins.
