Dead Sea Summit : Test for Arab intentions towards Iraq, MPs
    5:00 AM ADMIN
Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Iraqi MPs' viewpoints on the expected results of the Dead Sea Arab

    Summit in Jordan today.

Some believe that the Summit will contain "only speeches and verbal supports", while others expect that this summit will surpass the stage of material assistance due to the availability of "real Arab intentions to change their stands towards Iraq".

MP Faris ala-Fars, of Mutahidoun Bloc, expected that the Arab will grant Iraq financial support to enhance its fight against terrorism.

"We are optimistic that the neighboring countries are keen for the stability in Iraq, so they will extend economic and humanitarian support.", he added.

Member of the Iraqi Parliamentarian Security and Defence Commission Iskandar Witwit expected the "failure" of the Arab Summit due to the "hegemony" of the Gulf countries on the resolutions of the Conference.

He called Iraq to form an "anti-political force to object the Gulf resolutions and the Gulf control of the Arab region", pointing that the "Arabs are living in bad conditions due to Saudi and Gulf control of Arab decisions".

Some of other political analysts do not expect much for Iraq, because the "Arab states are nearly dead that need someone to save them of their political conflicts and deteriorating economies, as well as "divided in anti-terrorism stands".

Others paraphrased the non-attendance of President Fouad Ma'soum (Kurdish) means that the Kurds do not want to be "defenders " of the country following the recent victories in Mosul and the results of Premier Haidar al-Ibadi's successful visit to USA.

"The Kurds do not want an Iraqi power in the region", some analysts added.

Premier Ibadi will head the Iraqi delegation to the Arab Summit today.
