Members of the Board of Directors of the Fund for Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations in Iraq decided to choose the Arab Contractors Union headed by Fahad Al Hammadi as a member of the Advisory Board of the Fund.
"The areas affected by terrorist operations in Iraq include Mosul, Ramadi, Kirkuk, Salahaddin, Diyala, north of Babylon, Baghdad belt," Zayed Al-Otaibi, Secretary-General of the Arab Contractors Union, said in a press statement. Areas as well as projects designed for the reconstruction and methods and formulas seen by donors and lenders.
Al-Otaibi added that "the nomination letter has been received from the Iraqi Council of Ministers. The procedures will be taken through the official contact points and the Federation will do its utmost to serve the public interest.
Al-Otaibi stressed that "these projects are a good opportunity for Egyptian construction companies because of their great experience known in many fields."
The Union of Arab Contractors has received many nominations for assistance in the reconstruction of many of the affected countries because of the knowledge of the Union and its experience in the reconstruction and strategic planning of the contracting sector.
For his part, Eng. Zkwan Zuhair Al-Saffar, Chairman of the Iraqi Contractors Union - Nineveh Branch, said that the President of the Union of Arab Contractors, the members of the Board of Directors, the Secretariat of the Union and the Scientific Bureau of the Federation headed by Zayed Al-Otaibi is considered one of the excellent scientific bodies in the field of strategic planning for the contracting sector in the Arab world. The resources of the Fund depend on allocations from the federal budget for Iraq and allocations from countries, including 4 billion dollars from the World Bank loan and 50 million euros from Germany.
