Corruption in CBI dollar auction's sales , expert
Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink: Economic expert Basil al-Obaidi disclosed that existence of "financial
competition and corruption in the Central Bank of Iraq's dollar daily auction.
He pointed that the the CBI sells each 100 dollars with 119.000 Iraqi dinars, but some exchange companies do not abide selling this banknote with 120.000 dinars.
He pointed that this action is a sort of "financial competition" that should be under the rule of the economic crimes.
Expert Obaidi pointed that the daily dollar auction sells about 160 million dollars, with a total selling from the beginning of this year till April, 2017 reached to about 12.167 billion dollars.
"The exchange companies benefit of about 7000 Iraqi dinars for each 100 dollar-banknote", he disclosed.
He called the Iraqi government to "check the procedures of the banks and exchange companies and chase the fate of such funds".
