The Chinese Defense Ministry on Thursday denied information about sending 150,000 troops to its border with North Korea.
"Media reports that Beijing has sent thousands of troops to the border with Pyongyang following the rising tension on the Korean Peninsula are inaccurate," the ministry said in a statement. The statement called on all parties involved in the crisis to "conclude negotiations as soon as possible with regard to the denuclearization of the peninsula".
US and European media reports that China has sent 150,000 military reinforcements to its border with North Korea following rising tension on the Korean Peninsula.
Pyongyang conducted a missile test last week, two days after military exercises involving its southern neighbor, Japan and the United States, and America vowed a "merciless" strike in retaliation for any possible provocation by it.
One day after the test, US President Donald Trump said that "his country is prepared to take unilateral steps against North Korea if China refuses to join in putting pressure on Pyongyang.
