The Iraqi Foreign Ministry decided on Thursday to recall the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad for handing over an official protest note against the background of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's recent statements to the popular crowd.
"The Foreign Ministry decided to summon the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad to hand over a formal protest note regarding the Turkish president's recent statements to the popular crowd," ministry spokesman Ahmad Jamal said in a brief statement received by Mawazine News.
Erdogan described the popular crowd as a "terrorist organization", accusing Iran of infiltrating four countries in the region to form a "Persian power." Ending 29/34 R.
