[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hussein al-Shirifi, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend stated that postponing the parliament session till the 20th of August made it to loss a big part of its Legislative role.[/ltr]
[ltr]In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “The parliament had to hold an emergency session to discuss the security situation in Iraq where hundreds of the Iraqis were killed, but the session was postponed,” noting that “Due to the holidays, the parliament lost a big part of its Legislative role and became weak which also affected endorsing the law drafts that serve the citizens.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“The continuity of the political disputes also resulted in postponing many of the parliament sessions,” he concluded.[/ltr]

It sounds to me like if they can get enough mp's minsters to show up they will sign some important laws on to law ,which will help the citizens of Iraq !!!! Investiment law , oil n gas law , tariff 's law and a few others can't think of at the moment I know these laws have been sent to parliament for a vote !!!!!

[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Fiyan Khalil, of the Kurdistani Alliance accused the parliament chairmanship of delaying the parliament session by making a long holiday.[/ltr]
[ltr]She stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The long holiday of the parliament was not necessary and we respect Ramadan month and the holiday of Eid Al-Fitr was over on last Monday where the parliament had to resume its sessions due to the disturbed situation, but unfortunately the MPs are roaming somewhere in Europe and do not care.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“When the citizens criticize the parliament performance, we do not like it because they are saying the truth,” she pointed out, assuring that “If some key officials were busy, the MPs would have to hold the parliament session and continue its agenda.”[/ltr]
