Oil Ministry confirmed Iraq's insistence on eligibility in the presidency of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries OPEC.

He said ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said 'ministry pending the meeting for the selection of the President of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, to be held mostly on the end of the year, to discuss the candidates for the presidency of the Organization for the next period to be approved of all members, not a majority.'
He added that the 'candidate Iraqi Thamer Ghadhban is the most efficient and most capable and best suited for the job, given his experience and his work and activity, and therefore we hope to be agreed upon', expressing 'hope that the selection process according to professional and away from politics, especially with the support of many countries in the Organization Iraqi candidate '.
