The head of the Supreme National Commission for Accountability and Justice, Bassem Al-Badri, met today, Wednesday, with the Minister of Martyrs and Anfal in the Kurdistan Region, Abdullah Haj Mahmoud, and his deputy, Nasser Abdul Qader, in the presence of the Director General of the Information Department, Ali Al-Furaiji, in the Salah al-Din resort in Erbil.
The minister stressed in a statement received by Mawazine News, "The importance of the Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal, as the ministry deals with approximately 250 thousand people who were killed by the hateful Saddam killing machine between Halabja, Anfal and mass graves.
Al-Badri pointed to "opening horizons of cooperation between the Accountability and Justice Commission and the Ministry of Martyrs and Anfal in the region in all fields, including museums, documents, exchange of expertise and all other fields, and it was suggested that there be communication between the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Nasser Abdul Qader, and the Director General of the Information Department, Mr. Ali Al-Furaiji, to prepare the memorandum of understanding.
The statement concluded, "The Minister of Martyrs and Anfal Affairs thanked the Chairman of the Authority for this important visit and for all the proposals that were presented, hoping that cooperation between the two parties would continue. The Chairman of the Authority also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and stressed the need to continue communication in the service of the families of the martyrs and in appreciation of their great sacrifices and to enhance communication between the two institutions."
