    BAGHDAD - The Journal News

    Committee on Economy and Investment representative stressed the need to provide an additional resource safe investment environment in order to invest phosphate after oil and boost the Iraqi economy.

    The committee member said Abdul Abbas Xiaa for "Journal News" on Wednesday, said that "Iraq has oil and gas, including natural resources and then comes after sulfur and phosphate."

    He added that "Iraq is the second producer of this resource is a key material intervention in many industries."

    He called for "the rehabilitation of the phosphate plants, which he described as old and rickety" he said, saying that "it is not limited to the extraction of phosphate and then export it must pass through the stages as is the case of crude oil, which needs to be explored and drilled wells and then the rehabilitation of pipelines and pumping oil through" .

    He stressed that "the world price of phosphate oil and the quantity possessed by Iraq of phosphate is not comparable to the oil is not comparable but Iraq's efforts are still weak, because the plants that prepares phosphate is ready electrical power hand, they are not available adequately, and continue exploration needs to be capital and secure environment for the work of the fact that the areas where phosphate exist are hot areas of the conflict, including the provinces of Nineveh and Anbar. "
