    The phosphate deposits are located in the Akashat region of western Iraq, and include other minerals such as quartzite, dolomite, sand sand (sand) and heavy sand, a special type of sand that is present only in that region. The Iraqi reserves of phosphate are estimated at 5.75 billion tons.
