Love Will Keep Us Together

This was torture–the worst kind– the kind we do to ourselves!

Life can be kind of like that hairbrush. We are rockin’ and rollin’ round and round and then we get stuck. We are spinning our wheels and find ourselves in a downward spiral unable to get out of bed in the morning.

Hopelessness stepped in. Laughter stepped out. We are tangled up in a mangled mess of emotions with no help in sight. We cry enough buckets of tears to water the plants for at least a decade.

I think Jesus plops friends and people in front of us when we want to do nothing but crawl back in bed and marinate. He will show us what needs to be done if victory over sadness is going to be won.

Every one of us is suffering in some form or another, some quietly hidden and some out in the wide open for people to see. It’s there. The thing we often forget is that Jesus is there too. He does not leave us at our time of distress, he patiently helps us come out of the dark and back into the light. We are all in this together.

Thank you, Lord, for loving us.

Softly utter the name of Jesus while you breathe in deeply and exhale. That’s it. That’s it. See. He loves us and will not leave us.

Breathe a much-needed sigh of relief. You are finally free from the "brushes" of bondage. Now, round em up and ride it out. Jesus’ love will keep us together.
