Prayer can be a struggle

Often we begin praying only to find ourselves dozing or daydreaming.Our mind zips and flitters from one place to another with distractions.

We struggle to stay awake. The phone rings. The dog barks. Or we suddenly remember wet clothes in the dryer or the grocery list that needs to be made. If you are like most of us, it drives us crazy because we know prayer is the greatest source of power in our lives. So why isn't it easier?

Maybe you can relate. Maybe you can't.

If you can and you are willing to admit it, let me tell you….YOU are not alone.

We all have good intentions to have quiet time and to listen for God. To talk to him in the stillness of the day. Most of us want to pray more, much deeper, and make it more meaningful.

It would be so much easier if God knocked on our door and just came in for a cup of coffee and sat across the table from us, huh?

What I have found in my prayer life is that he doesn’t want fancy eloquent words. He wants you. Just you. Just the way you are. The best way to begin is "God, you are so good....." Then begin to tell him why. Wonderful things happen when we pray!

Jeremiah 29: 12-13 “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
