Look, a professional hockey team in Colorado that knows how to win.

As awful as the Avalanche were this season, three of their draft picks helped the Colorado Eagles, who are their ECHL affiliate, win the Kelly Cup.

The Eagles completed a four-game sweep of the South Carolina Stingrays -- Avalanche coach Jared Bednar's former team -- with a 2-1 win Monday at the North Charleston Coliseum.

The Eagles, in their first season as an Avalanche affiliate, went 16-4 in the playoffs with series wins against the Idaho Steelheads, Allen Americans and Toledo Walleye before defeating the Stingrays.

Julien Nantel, 20, a 6-foot, 193-pound forward, had 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) in 20 playoff games with six penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating. He was the Avalanche's seventh-round pick (No. 204) in the 2014 NHL draft.

Sergei Boikov, 21, a 6-2, 200-pound defenseman, had 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 18 games with 12 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating. He was a sixth-round pick (No. 161) in 2015.

Mason Geertsen, 22, a 6-4, 215-pound defenseman, had four points (one goal, three assists) in 19 games with 42 penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating. He was a fourth-round pick (No. 93) in 2013.
