A deputy of the State of Law Coalition on Saturday identified six parties as saying that they are barred from participating in the elections. He pointed out that there are two options for the popular mobilization volunteers, one of which is to enter politics.
"The law prohibits the participation of any party with a military wing," MP Abbas al-Bayati said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah. "The law prohibits the participation of the Peshmerga, the national security, the intelligence apparatus, the popular crowd, the army and the police to work politically."
He added that "the popular crowd has become an official institution can not participate in the upcoming elections," noting that "there are volunteers in the crowd before them with two options either the entry of political action or military action."
Al-Bayati said that "the factions registered within the Popular Lobby are not entitled to participate in the upcoming elections except volunteers." Ending / 25
