    Came back spiral pipe plant in Basra, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, produced again after a stopover during the last period to the lack of raw materials. The general director of the General Company for Iron and Steel in Basra Abbas about: "(14) thousand tons of raw materials (Alkwylat) arrived at the stores spiral pipe plant in Basra at a cost of $ 12 million."

    He explained: "The plant produces tubes with different diameters, according to international standards adopted in the amount of 200 thousand tons per year, after he added his new production lines in 2012, but still suffers from low turnout Iraqi ministries on the production," calling the Oil Ministry to enter into contracts with lab for the purpose of processing the various pipes according to international specifications.

    The lab opened in 1972, a production line one, then another font outfitted in 1976, and in 1986 added a third line. The plant stopped production in 1991 until 2010, but recently stopped production for lack of raw materials. And currently employs 630 workers, technicians and engineers. Moreover Oil Minister Abdul Karim and coffee, that his ministry is looking to create a city in the province of Basra, oil, pointing out that the importance of this project lies in the expansion of the roof oil projects in the province.

    He said Laibi in a press statement, on Sunday, said that "the oil ministry intends to create a city of oil and modern style universal in the province of Basra," noting that "the proposed site of the city's oil is in the Faw area due to the operations of big oil going there." He pointed out that "the importance of This project comes due to the increased oil operations and the expansion of the current ceiling of oil projects in Basra as a strategic location, "adding that" the South Oil Company created the floor space needed for the project and we are waiting for preliminary designs that will take the responsibility of the Directorate of Planning in the ministry. "
