The Pope has given the green light to go through several rounds of church debate on allowing married men to enter the priesthood and act as priests, the British Daily Mirror reported.

In an article entitled "Pope Francis is considering allowing married men to enter the priesthood," the British newspaper reported that the Pope had given permission to partially indulge with the conditions of celibacy for the selection of priests in remote places, such as Amazon Brazil.

According to the newspaper, cardinal Claudio Hummes, head of the Amazonian diocese, had earlier appealed to the pope to take this step to address the crisis of Christian clergy in the region where statistics show that there is only one Christian cleric for every 10,000 Catholics.

The Catholic Church allows for the ordination of members of Protestant clergy who convert to Catholicism and thus enter the Catholic priesthood and are married.

After a series of scandals of sexual harassment and rape of minors in the Vatican, the Vatican's official radio reported in September that Pope Francis had declared that he would not grant amnesties in cases of sexual assault on minors and decided to revoke the possibility of appealing their convictions "Anyone convicted of sexual abuse of minors at the Vatican is entitled to seek pardon from the Pope, but I will never grant this amnesty," he said during a meeting of the Vatican Committee for the Protection of Minors. "I hope this is clear to everyone."

The UN Committee Against Torture has called on the Vatican to take further steps to combat sexual harassment by clerics and has also called on civil authorities to inform the civil authorities of the charges for investigation and sentencing. The land of the Vatican State does not include clergy in other countries. Finished
