A source in the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Sunday, that Iraq received loans within 2018 in the budget up to two billion and 852 million dollars from international banks to complete the projects of ministries and provinces.
"Iraq has received huge amounts of international loans from the Japanese Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation, the German Development Bank, a loan from Italy, the loan from the Defense Cooperation Agency of the US Department of Defense, the World Bank, the Bank of British Exports and foreign banks guaranteed by Sweden. And the German Guarantee Association of 2018, all amounting to two billion and 852 million dollars.
The source added that "the Japan Bank for International Cooperation granted Iraq 80 million dollars for 2018 allocated to the projects of the Ministry of Electricity, while the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation granted a loan for 2018 of 858 million dollars, including 128 million dollars for the Ministry of Construction and 276 Ministry of Electricity and 2 million resources and 41 million for oil and 13 for industry, 3 for health, 67 for transport, 8 for telecommunications and 28 trillion for electricity projects for the Kurdistan region. "
"The German Development Bank granted Iraq a loan of 152 million dollars for 2018 for the reconstruction of areas liberated from terrorism, while Italy granted a loan of 78 million dollars, of which 46 were allocated for projects of the Ministry of Water Resources, 16 for agriculture and 16 million for projects of the Ministry of Commerce."
The source said that "the loan of the Agency for Security Cooperation of the US Department of Defense amounted to 706 million dollars for the year 2018 to finance the needs of the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, while the loan of the World Bank $ 251 million allocated to complete the projects of the ministries of reconstruction, electricity, health and finance and planning and the provinces of Kurdistan and the Secretariat of Baghdad.
He added that "the British Export Bank granted Iraq for the year 2018 about 720 million dollars, including 80 million dollars for the project to desalinate water in Basra and 80 for the Hilla streams and 400 million for the power stations of Nasiriyah and Samawa and 160 million for energy transfer projects," pointing out that "Iraq received loans from foreign banks Of 2018 Swedish guarantees 120 million dollars to complete the projects of the Ministry of Electricity as well as 160 million dollars of electricity loan from the German Guarantees Foundation. "
