    BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A member of the parliamentary security and defense committee, Shakhwan Abdullah, said on Tuesday that there was corruption in the arms deals of the F16 and Abrams tanks, while stressing that the committee had dismantled many of the weapons contracts that were corrupt.

    "Arms contracts for the F16 and Abrams tanks have seen corruption,"Abdullah told Iraq News. "The budget for armaments for the defense and interior ministries was fictional and included weapons that were not actually used by the military."

    A member of the Committee on Security and Defense parliamentary, "The Commission has dismantled many of the contracts of weapons that were plagued by corruption," pointing out that "some senior officials have been behind these deals."

    The head of the security and defense committee parliamentary spoke of quitting, on Monday, the presence of the aircraft Tlkaat contracts F16 and tanks Brams, while noting that the Ministry of Defense were not their priorities and armament processing since 2003 and until 2014.

    On November 12, 2017, the Ministerial Council for National Security discussed armament contracts for the armed forces and equipping the anti-terrorist forces with weapons and military equipment, in addition to equipping the Ministry of the Interior with military-use wheels. Finished 2

    A member of the Committee on Security and Defense Parliamentary Shakhwan Abdullah on Tuesday there is corruption in the arms deals for the F16 and Abrams tanks. 

    Abdullah said in a press statement: The arms deals of the F16 and Abrams tanks have seen corruption in them, noting that the budget of armaments to the Ministries of Defense and Interior were fictional and included weapons not actually used by the military.

    He added: "The Commission has dismantled many of the contracts of weapons that were corrupt, pointing out that some senior officials were behind these deals.
