[ltr]Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Sunday that his country would open an embassy in East Jerusalem within days.[/ltr]
[ltr]Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, and Foreign Minister in his Government, Gebran Bassilbenan, begin a move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, including the exchange of land between the two countries[/ltr]
[ltr]"The day is approaching when we will officially open our embassy there," Erdogan said in a speech to members of his ruling Justice and Development party in Karaman state today.[/ltr]
[ltr]"We were declaring East Jerusalem the capital of the State of Palestine, but we did not have an opportunity to open our embassy there, because Jerusalem is under occupation," he said. We will open our embassy, "according to the agency" Tass ".[/ltr]
[ltr]The statement comes two days after the Turkish president called on the Islamic world to respond appropriately to the announcement of US President Donald Trump recognition of the city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the transfer of the US embassy, on December 6.[/ltr]
