"Defense Minister Irfan Mahmood al-Hayali received at his office at the Ministry of Defense on Thursday British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson and his accompanying delegation, which arrived in Baghdad today, and after the arrival of the guest delegation held an expanded meeting between the two parties attended by the secretary general of the ministry and the inspector, General and senior leaders in the ministry, during which it was agreed to expand and develop bilateral military relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom. "
The statement added that the two sides "discussed in the field of training, armament and preparation, as well as increased cooperation in the exchange of security and intelligence information and emphasis on increasing intelligence efforts, especially in the field of training of intelligence personnel so as to achieve the unity and safety of the country."
He added that "this meeting resulted in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries on the construction and development of relations in the military fields, after which the British minister invited the Minister of Defense to visit the United Kingdom soon." Finished
