    On Thursday, the Electoral Commission approved extending the registration of electoral alliances to the evening, after the closing time was until 4 pm.

    A source in the Electoral Commission said in a press statement: "There is great pressure exerted on the Commission to extend the registration deadline for more than a day."

     
    The source added that "the Prime Minister, Haider Abadi, did not submit his electoral list to register, which is one of the reasons for the delay, in addition to the existence of entities in Kirkuk has not resolved its position on the mechanism of participation and alliances.

    Explaining that "initially, the Commission agreed to extend the extension ends at seven in the evening," but the source did not rule out that the extension of the deadline more.


    This, and revealed leaks of a disagreement within the Dawa Party on the leadership of the election between Maliki and Abadi, while most of the leadership of the party to nominate the first.
