    [ltr]Follow up of Mawazine News[/ltr]
[ltr]The Philippines announced it plans to deport an "Iraqi scientist belonging to Hamas", accused of helping the group launch rockets into Israel.[/ltr]
[ltr]Philippine police chief Ronald Delarosa said in a press conference that his forces were holding "Taha Mohammed al-Jubouri after the Iraqi authorities informed him of his presence on its territory."[/ltr]
[ltr]"Jabouri admitted that he belongs to Hamas and that he is a chemical scientist whose task is to develop the missile technology adopted by the movement by launching rockets from its areas towards the Israeli side," said Delarosa.[/ltr]
[ltr]But he said Jabouri was arrested because he was "illegally resident" and had problems with the visa, saying he would be deported to Iraq.[/ltr]
[ltr]Police say Jabouri arrived last year in the midst of fighting by government forces against fighters loyal to a pro-Fatah organization that controlled Marawi in the south of the country.[/ltr]
[ltr]Jabouri spent most of his time in Manila and surrounding areas and told police he had no intention of carrying out any terrorist act in the Philippines.[/ltr]
