The Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday the transfer of the FAO refinery project, which includes a petrochemical complex, to China's Power Java and Narco, pointing to the announcement soon inviting investment companies to participate in the projects of Anbar, Qayara and Dhi Qar refineries.
"The Ministry of Oil has referred the FAO Refinery Project, which includes a petrochemical complex, to China's Power Java and Nerco," ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said in a statement. "The refinery has 300,000 barrels, which is one of the giant export investment projects being built in the city. Faw in the southern province of Basra.
Jihad added that "this comes within the plans of the ministry to promote the sectors of liquidation and petrochemicals for export purposes, which enhances the role of Iraq in these areas and generate significant financial revenues expected to support the national economy," explaining that "the project includes an integrated complex of petrochemicals and other facilities built near the port Export in FAO ".
