    [rtl]BAGHDAD - The parliamentary legal committee confirmed on Wednesday that the proposed amendment to the election law is a partisan and personal demands of the blocs and their leaders.[/rtl]
    [rtl]A member of the committee, Kamel al-Zaidi, said in a press statement that "the legal committee suffers from the war of proposals," noting that "all proposals for amendment to the election law are partisan and personal interests, as well as proposals in other laws, mostly political party."[/rtl]
    [rtl]Zaidi added that "the quorum is difficult to be achieved in the coming sessions, because of differences between the blocks on some laws and most important budget, as well as amendments to the election law and others."[/rtl]
    [rtl]The 12 th Council of Ministers of May 2018 has set a date for the upcoming parliamentary elections with provincial elections.[/rtl]
    [rtl]According to the map of political positions announced, most of the political parties will run the elections either independent or within political alliances different from that of the 2014 elections .[/rtl]
    [rtl]The Federal Court issued a decision on the inadmissibility of changing the date of the parliamentary elections. The court spokesman Ayas al-Samuk said in a statement that "the Federal Court issued an interpretive decision to the provisions of Article 56 / II of the Constitution upon the request of the House of Representatives on 21/1 / 2018, in which it ruled that the period specified in the said article must be restricted to elect the new members of the House of Representatives and that they should not be changed, and in accordance with the explanatory note No. 8 / Federal / 2018 dated 21/1/2018.[/rtl]
