A member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives on the mass of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Mohamed Osman, 2018, on the status of the Iraqi government, two conditions to open the road link between Arbil and Kirkuk.
"We continue to look for the reasons why the road has not yet been opened, and we are exerting all our resources for the Iraqi government to agree to reopen it," Osman said in a press statement.
"Baghdad has two conditions to open the way; first: to repair the side of the bridge and the second; the Iraqi government believes that the location of the point of control of Erbil, near the area of Berdi has been submitted so much, so they demand to return to a location closer to Erbil.
He said that "the governments of Iraq and the Kurdistan region have not reached any agreement so far on these conditions, which led to not open the way so far."
It is noteworthy that the Council of the province of Arbil has unanimously called on 20-2-2018 to open the road Erbil - Kirkuk and Erbil Makhmour, and approved the territory during the past two weeks to open the two roads closed since the events of 16 October last unilaterally.
