Shafaq News / The office of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi denied that the latter had asked to visit the reference Ali al-Sistani during his visit to Najaf on Thursday.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said that the latter's schedule to visit Najaf "is designed to inspect governmental institutions and the conditions of citizens and visit the families of martyrs in the province and that any claim other than that is pure lies."
"We deeply regret the fact that some media outlets, which allowed themselves falsely to attribute false news in the name of the religious authority, and while we deny this news in full, we call on the media to be credible and the transfer of news from official sources and reliable, .
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi arrived in Najaf on Thursday on a visit to his constituency, where he claimed a list called "victory", which includes a number of blocs and political parties.
    The source said
that the governor of Najaf, the former political leader Adnan al-Zarafi, who belongs to the Islamic Dawa Party, the Abadi wing, , Was mediating two days ago to Mohamed Reza son of the Sistani reference to agree to arrange a meeting between Abadi Sistani.
She stressed that all the efforts of al-Zarfi failed, and that Sistani expressed his absolute rejection to receive any political figure until the announcement of his position, today (Friday), during Friday prayers in the city of Karbala, on the parliamentary elections and the position of political figures.
The Shiite political parties are concerned about the position of the Reverend Ali al-Sistani, who closed his office in the face of all politicians for more than five years; because of the deteriorating situation in the country.
The Iraqi political scene is witnessing a sharp struggle with the near parliamentary elections scheduled for May 12, and the competition between the victory list led by Abadi and the opening list led by Hadi al-Amiri, which includes most factions of the popular crowd.
