The office of religious authority, Mr. Ali Al-Sistani, revealed that the authority does not reserve or give any approval to any candidate to head the next government
A source in the reference office said, "It leaves the selection of the new prime minister for the blocs according to the constitutional and legal frameworks and has no reservations or acceptance of any candidate for the position."
Informed political sources previously reported yesterday that the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, had received a list that includes a number of names nominated to head the government.
The official Iraqi News Agency quoted the sources as saying that "the President of the Republic may go to assign the candidate of the Prime Minister far from the name of the largest number bloc," noting that "the largest bloc ended after the nomination of Adel Abdul Mahdi for the post of Prime Minister
She added, “Saleh received a list that includes a number of nominated names, the most prominent of which is Muhammad Shi'a Al-Sudani, Asaad Al-Eidani and Mustafa Al-Kazemi, indicating that“ Saleh also received the names of a candidate by the demonstrators, the most prominent of whom is Judge Raed Jouhi
She pointed out that "these names are subject to change according to the variables and the compatibility of political blocs", pointing out that "the President of the Republic will assign a personality to head the government that guarantees its acceptability and voting on it in the House of Representatives."
