    Baghdad (AIN) –The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki and, Akbar Hashimi Rafsanjani, the Chairman of Expediency Discernment Council, discussed the Syrian crisis and means to settle it before holding Geneva 2 conference.

    A statement by Maliki's office received by AIN cited "Maliki met with Rafsanjani, on the sides of his current visit to Iran that started on Wednesday."

    "Maliki confirmed that Iraq is confident about its relations with the international community and that the relations with Iran will achieve the best levels of cooperation," the statement added.

    "Maliki also received the Iranian FM, Mohamed Jawad Dharief, where they discussed the issues of mutual concerns and they agreed upon the need for Visas for the diplomatic officials of both countries," the statement concluded. /End/
