Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said he was confident the United States would not ease non-proliferation standards in any nuclear deal it reached with Saudi Arabia.

The Israeli minister said after a meeting with officials from the administration of US President Donald Trump that his country "strongly opposed" Saudi efforts to ease restrictions on uranium enrichment or reprocessing of nuclear fuel, and said: "confident that Washington will not ease the non-proliferation standards in any agreement A big deal with Saudi Arabia, "according to" Reuters ".

Saudi Arabia is working with the US side on a civilian nuclear deal that would allow the kingdom to enrich uranium and reprocess plutonium. Saudi Arabia has announced earlier that it is seeking to build two nuclear reactors to eliminate oil addiction, a move that confirms its attempt to catch up with Iran in this area.

Saudi Arabia has demanded that it be given the right to enrich uranium. The principle is a requirement for US companies, which want to conclude deals to build two reactors in the kingdom, which, according to media leaks, cost tens of billions of dollars, Reuters said.
