The spokesman for the international coalition, General Frédéric Barroso, confirmed that the military campaign against Da'ash in Syria will last at least two or three months.
"It is a purely political matter," Barroso said in a televised address from the headquarters of the French mission in Baghdad. "The goal of the mission at all levels is to defeat Badash."
"What will happen next? This is something that must be decided. We will continue our combat operations for at least two or three months, after which there will be new decisions."
General Barroso stressed that it was important for his country to ensure that armed militants would not be able to organize and launch attacks outside Syria and Iraq.
The US-led international coalition, with French participation since 2014, has been waging a military operation in Syria and Iraq against elements of a pro-Western organization.
