Iran threatens veto power in OPEC against any decision damaging its interests

"OPEC members are trying to appease the United States," Oil Minister Begin Zengane said Thursday, adding that the price of a barrel of oil at $ 80 a barrel was "appropriate".
He stressed that producers from OPEC and abroad, who are due to meet this week in Algeria, have no power to amend the agreement, which was concluded at the end of 2016 to reduce production in order to support oil prices in the markets.
The minister did not mention what measures Iran could take if the meeting was decided to increase production, but said that "his country would block any OPEC decision that poses a threat to Iran," adding that any new production decision for the committee to monitor the implementation of the oil agreement would be " , Stressing that the decisions must be taken during the meetings of "OPEC" and with the consent of all its members.
