    Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan al-Kaabi, Saturday, to pass the draft law on the right to access information during the coming period of the work of the House of Representatives, stressing that the legislation of the law "a basic right" contributes to detect cases of corruption found in institutions. 

    "This came during his chairmanship today in a meeting in the House of Representatives to discuss the draft law on the right to information, with the participation of the Tower of Babel and related bodies and institutions, such as the Ministry of the Interior and the Iraqi Journalists Syndicates and the National Union of Journalists," Al-Kaabi said in a statement received by Alsumaria News. The Association of Lawyers, the Integrity Commission, the Human Rights Commission, the Iraqi Media Network, the Information and Communication Agency and others, in addition to the personalities, authorities and functions. "






    The office quoted al-Kaabi as saying that "the necessity of the legislation of the law during the next few years, considering that the people is the source of the existing authorities, as well as access to information is a fundamental corner of the pillars of democracy enjoyed by our new Iraq," pointing out that " Monitoring the work of institutions and detecting cases of corruption ". 

    Al-Kaabi pointed out that "the meeting today came to mature the previous efforts that are working towards the adoption of the law and the importance of cross-fertilization of ideas and benefit from views of the paragraphs of the draft proposed and see the papers submitted by the institutions participating in the workshop." 

    Al-Kaabi pointed out that "today's meeting will be followed by meetings and other meetings with the participation of parliamentary committees competent to support visions and exit formulas and recommendations appropriate and final, consistent with international laws and standards and humanitarian can be included in the law."
